Bee Rescue and Relocation in Palm Beach County
Humane bee rescue in Palm Beach County. Colonies are relocated alive to managed apiaries, comb removed and entry sealed. Call 561-371-1722.
A honey bee colony is worth saving. Rescue and relocation moves the queen, workers and brood out of your structure and into a managed hive where the colony can keep going. Florida loses an enormous number of colonies to spraying every year, and almost none of it is necessary.
What Bee Rescue & Relocation Includes
- No-kill relocation of healthy colonies
- Queen and brood preserved, not just the flying bees
- Comb rebanded into frames so the colony survives
- Partnered with local beekeepers and apiaries

How We Do It, Step by Step
- Find the queen. A relocation only works if the queen comes with the colony, so we locate her first and get her into the hive box. The workers gather to her from there. A rushed extraction that misses the queen leaves a colony that collapses later.
- Save the brood. Brood comb is cut and rebanded into frames so developing bees keep maturing. This is the step that separates real relocation from a vacuum job.
- Transport low-stress. Ventilated boxes, shade, and no crushing. Colonies move to an apiary the same day whenever possible.
- Rebuild the hive. At the apiary the colony is installed, fed if needed and monitored until it re-establishes.
- Close your structure. Your cavity is cleaned, treated and sealed so the rescue does not turn into a repeat visit.
What Drives the Price
Bee removal pricing covers a wide spectrum, because the cost depends almost entirely on where the hive is and how hard it is to safely reach. Easy, ground-level jobs, like a small hive inside an in-ground water meter box, sit at the low end, often around $300-$400. Difficult jobs, hives in a second-story roof, at the top of a high-rise, or sealed inside a concrete wall, can run well into the thousands, especially when professional removal plus repairs are involved. You always get an upfront, no-obligation quote after we assess your specific situation.
For this service specifically, the biggest cost factors are:
- Colony size and how much brood comb has to be saved
- How difficult the cavity is to reach without destroying the comb
- Height and access equipment required
- Distance and transport time to the receiving apiary
- Whether structural repair is part of the job
See real numbers and examples on the bee removal cost page.
What Happens After the Bees Are Gone
Removal is only finished when the structure is closed. We clean and treat the cavity so residual pheromone stops advertising the space to the next scout, seal and screen the entry point, and coordinate the repair through licensed contractors, roofers and painters. If comb or honey soaked insulation or drywall, that material is replaced rather than covered up. See honeycomb removal and repair and bee proofing for how we keep it from happening twice.
Africanized Bees and When It Is an Emergency
Palm Beach County has established Africanized honey bee populations, so a defensive colony is a real possibility on any job. If bees are actively stinging, if they react to mowers, vibration or foot traffic near the nest, or if the colony is near children, pets, livestock, customers or a school, treat it as an emergency: keep everyone well back and call 561-371-1722. See our emergency bee removal page and the Africanized bee safety guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Nearly all of them. Healthy colonies relocate well. Even defensive or Africanized colonies are removed alive by us and handled appropriately by experienced keepers rather than sprayed in your wall.
They go to managed apiaries and local beekeepers who monitor and care for them. They are not dumped in a field or released to swarm back into a neighborhood.
